Project Summary:

This project will focus on Traceability and Product Identity in the Food Sector, from raw materials to final production & despatching.

Need:

During the next few years, companies in the food supply chain will have to
establish procedures on crisis management. Within the EU Food Regulation
178/2002 there is a requirement for traceability.

Solution:

ICT technologies can be applied to optimise traceability. Better traceability will
also impact of sustainability, as a result of better use of resources.

Benefits:

Compliance with food regulations on traceability. Lower process costs. Better use
of resources. Higher levels of environmental performance.
